Grow Bags and Watering Cans
Total Project Cost: $10,000
After the south western peninsula of Haiti was hit straight on by Category 3 Hurricane Matthew in October 2016 the effects are still being felt even now. Certain coffee regions up to 60 miles away has their coffee trees destroyed. For a community that depends almost entirely on this cash crop, the impact is devastating. In spite of the set back, with the help of capable national agronomists and other young leaders, this region is seeking to rebuild it's coffee trees.
However, they have voiced that what they really need is plastic coffee grow bags and watering cans. Imagine that. They aren't asking for major financial assistance, they just want to be able to create a future for themselves and their families. But they need help in obtaining the necessary materials to set up primitive coffee tree nurseries and keep the seedlings watered.
Partnering with an established Haitian led organization, TREEmendous Coffee seeks to administer this project to provide 200,000 plastic grow bags and 25 metal watering cans. We just need your help in accomplishing this task. If you wish to learn more information about this awesome project to give a hand up instead of a hand out, please contact us.
A gift of $50 will provide one watering can and 100 grow bags.
We need 100 people to give $100 each and we will have this project taken care of.
